About
I'm a software engineer based in Nairobi with 6+ years spanning embedded systems, cross-platform desktop apps, and cloud backends. Most recently I spent four years as a Developer Advocate at Autodesk, debugging and building tooling for the 3ds Max plugin ecosystem; and along the way got pulled into building MCP servers and RAG pipelines that connect real production software to LLMs.
Outside of employer work, I'm the author of MantisBase, an open-source C++20 backend-as-a-service (30+ releases, 11,000+ Docker downloads), and I led the engineering team behind TIBAVENT, Kenya's first locally manufactured mechanical ventilator, built during COVID-19. I also chair the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society's Kenya chapter.
